Dorothy joined the staff of Central Pennsylvania Eye and Ear in 1990 after raising her 4 children. Her specialty areas include fitting digital hearing aids and invisible in canal hearing aids, plus fitting custom hearing protection to prevent hearing loss.
Dorothy Kardos is a Magna cum Laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. She has 25 years of in office clinical experience and 10 years of hospital experience. Most of her career has focused on hearing testing and fitting of hearing aids.
Dorothy has been a member of the Pennsylvania Hearing Healthcare Association since 1993, and has served on the association's board of directors since 1995. She has also been a member of the International Hearing Society and a Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist since 1993. She was elected the first female President of the Pennsylvania Hearing Healthcare Association and held the position for 4 years. During her term as President, the association was named the Chapter of the Year by the International Hearing Society.
Dorothy was appointed in 2001 to the Pennsylvania Governor's Hearing Aid Sales and Registration Law Advisory Council by then Governor Richard Schweiker. Her appointment was extended in 2010 by Governor Ed Rendell and she continues to serve on this on the council today.
Dorothy enjoys attending professional seminars throughout the United States to help all of her patients improve their quality of life with better hearing.
